LeagueStats: 1 year later, where are we?

It's November 10th, 2020, which means LeagueStats turned 1 today! This is an opportunity to take stock of the project, and what will happen in the coming months.

Since then, the site went public on November 10, 2019, and it remained almost frozen in the state it was in at that time. Since its release, the site has received 2 updates, almost exclusively for bug fixes and improvements regarding the readability of information on the pages. But the features haven't changed much: a player's profile, list of the 5 most recent games, list of champion masteries.

What future for LeagueStats?

The famous question of the future. First of all, you should know that, in the future, 8 versions are already planned, while 4 additional versions are under study. The next version, version 0.6.0, will be released in a few months, but at first glance will not present any really visible changes for you, with one exception. The links on the site will change completely, and will be easier to remember.

For example, currently, https://leaguestats.infinity54.fr/summoner/?region=EUW&name=InFinity54 allows access to my profile on the game. From version 0.6.0, this same link will be replaced by the link next: https://leaguestats.infinity54.fr/summoner/EUW/InFinity54! It is shorter, therefore more practical.
The site will also change technologies: it will use from version 0.6.0 the same technologies that were used to develop my personal site (on which you are currently reading this article 😜). This will allow the site to be faster. It will also have a database, which will store all the information displayed on the site, which will avoid having to resort to Riot Games' servers for certain tasks, which will greatly contribute to this increase in fluidity.

Regarding the versions that will be released after version 0.6.0, they will see the return of the addition of functionalities on the site. In particular, you will be able to see the arrival of details of in-game items, champions and their skins. The rest will be discussed in a few months, when the time is right.

In conclusion, LeagueStats is celebrating its somewhat quiet first year, but its future is busy! The change of technology takes a lot of time, but will make things a lot easier for me for the future. The site is still accessible at the same address, and continues to be updated with each new League of Legends patch. Click here to learn more about the site, or to access it! 😄
